Merchavelo Inventory is our Shopify purchasing and inventory app in development. We’re building it around the relationship between what a merchant orders, what arrives, and what it costs.

The work between ordering and selling

A purchase order captures what a store expects from a supplier. The delivery tells a different part of the story: which items arrived, how many were accepted, and what is still outstanding. An invoice adds another piece, and a freight charge may arrive later.

Our product direction starts with keeping those records connected. A person reviewing an inventory decision should be able to understand the purchasing and receiving activity behind it.

What we’re working on

The development build includes supplier records, purchase orders, partial receiving and corrections, multiple invoices, and landed-cost revisions. These are the core workflows we are bringing together in Merchavelo Inventory.

The wider development scope also includes transfers between locations, stocktakes, replenishment views, reports, and downloadable CSV and barcode PDF files. Each area needs to fit the same basic requirement: make the action, its context, and its result understandable.

That does not mean every feature should be on every screen. A person receiving a shipment needs quantities and a clear receiving action. A person reviewing costs needs the relevant invoice and charge information. The interface should reflect the job at hand.

Why start with connected records?

Consider an order that arrives in two deliveries. The original order, the first receipt, the second receipt, and a later correction all describe the same purchasing activity from different points in time.

Our design goal is to preserve those relationships so that a current value does not lose its explanation. Receiving and cost changes deserve records that can be reviewed, especially when the work happens over several days.

Where the product stands

Merchavelo Inventory is in private development and testing. It is not being presented here as an available App Store product. Work on release readiness, merchant validation, and the product’s supporting information is still ongoing.

These articles explain our product direction. Availability and release details will be announced separately. If you want to discuss a purchasing or inventory workflow, tell us about the task you are trying to complete.
